Hammer:
The Salomon Dontgetlost.ca Raid the Hammer attracts athletes from a number of sports as it represents the perfect off season endurance adventure challenge for elite athletes, weekend warriors and running newbies alike. Over the last 10+ years the Raid the Hammer has attracted top mountain racers from Scotland, Canadian national team members in orienteering and cross country skiing and even Olympians like Adam van Koeverden. This year one of Canada's top mountain runners, Adrian Lambert teamed up with Alex Hutchinson and Nevin French on team Sweat Science. Alex Hutchinson raced at the World Mountain Running Championships in 2010, has raced on the national team in track (1500m), on the roads (5K), and at the World Cross Country Championships (12K: 2001, 2002, 2008). He is currently the senior editor at Canadian Running magazine, writes a column on the science of training for the Globe and Mail. He also has a new book out about the science of exercise and training: Which Comes First, Cardio or Weights?
