Where were you sitting? The Strauss was pretty epic. Hadn't heard the Schumann concerto before.

Yeah, I found the Schumann interesting, but it was so stately as to border on stagnation. I seldom feel like the music is going anywhere with Schumann. The soloist seemed to be really good, though.

I love Ein Heldenleben. All of Richard Strauss's tone poems are powerful and poignant, but perhaps I find it especially easy to find something of myself in Heldenleben. Keith and I were sitting in second balcony center. Where were you? I had no idea you were planning on going; Keith made sure I didn't forget it was Heldenleben week.

Orch KK on the left. There were hardly any concert goers to obstruct my view from the back :)

Agree on the Schumann. Perhaps we haven't passed through the stages in life necessary to appreciate its restraint.
