Looks like Ian had the fastest split to CP9. Come on guys! He's walking! There are 27 of you! Nobody can keep the speed-walking madmen in his place?!

Nice work Ian.

I heard he tripped and just rolled underneath the thick stuff.

Looking at it... Pete Alwin and Erin were both close to the control at the same time. In fact, Erin only lost to him by 1 second. I would wager that Ian got there third, Pete was being a gentlemen and letting Erin punch when Ian pulled a Sharon....

not quite : we were actually close in time for the leg , but actually i got there at 27:03 after the start , Pete 4 seconds later at 27:07 and Erin 4 more seconds later at 27:11.

I would have been there earlier but I lost a few seconds stepping on Pete Alwins dog. He had that little one who wouldn't run, right? Had to carry it around a bunch. Maybe that was after CP 9.

Pete had the right sense of what happened but wrong control.

# 7 (the pit) was a big pile up of Erin, Pete and the dog , and Ian .. all punching and going in and out of the cramped pit within a span of 9 seconds ,

# 8 worse (I think the dog leash got wrapped a tree right there) and 4 people (Jim Mullin joined the fray) punched within 10 seconds.

I am still going with Pete, Erin, and probably Jim got to #9 first, Ian followed their headlamps, then came powerwalking in, elbows out, and knocked the rest of the crew to the ground. It took them 5-20 seconds to recover.
