Orienteering Cincinnati will be hosting a course setting clinic on December 17 at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. The devious minds responsible for OCIN's annual Flying Pig will share their advice in a well-equipped computer lab where you'll be able to try out course setting and mapping software. Can you post the classroom lectures on YouTube?

That's an interesting idea. I've never done YouTube, but I can ask our technology officer. I think YouTube might limit the length of videos to just a few minutes, so we might have to do a series or post in some other way. Can't guarantee this will happen but it is a good idea!

More information is posted at the OCIN schedule page. We are inviting participants from all clubs to come learn principles of course setting and discussion. Whether you are an experienced course setter or have never set courses; whether you are a highly experienced orienteer or less so, you can lear a lot from this class. Even if you never set courses, learning to "think like a course setter" will improve your orienteering.

Prices have been posted. $20 for adults, $10 for juniors, $40 family maximum. That will include lunch.

There is a limit due to number of seats in the computer lab, so email Mike Minium if you plan to attend.
