Ugh. I feel your pain. Spent the whole day on the phone with the US embassy in Sweden, after my Japanese colleague was not allowed to board the plane to go back from Sweden (where he was visiting our lab) to the US, where he is employed.
The woman from the US embassy who I talked to was so rude that I sent the embassy a long complaint email, which will surely be ignored.
Anyway, have a great trip and forget all the bullshit for a while!!

Once these docs are picked up, I will forget it all, promise! I am now excited but tired. I hope your colleague makes it back here okay!

Have a great time in the United Kingdom! I'm terribly sorry there is so much stupid paperwork; I guess it builds character or some such. Please post pictures for those of us who are geographically challenged.
