No, what has happened is that Sweden is still an expensive country, but Australia has moved from being a cheapish country to being an astronomically expensive one; and so everywhere else looks cheap to you.
That's a fair call - probably the only people who think Australia is even remotely cheap these days are Swiss and Norwegians.
My immediate past and immediate future countries visited, of course...
For The rest of the Scandinavians SWe is cheep, except grog (for Danes not Norwegians).. Though the tax is lower in SWE but as the salaries also is lower it evens out. Anywhere outside Stockholm and the finest Summer house places, housing will be cheep, but guess that's the same in Australia.
I take it islands in the Stockholm archipelago are expensive.
Can you perhaps buy a clubhouse for OA while you are there then!!
The high dollar certainly makes the money go further. Having been here when the exchange rate was closer to 3:1 it is great to have it at the presnet levels. Just need another banana republic comment or economic ripple in about 8 monthsto cause a sharp devaluation, so the savings convert to more $s when we head back.
Sorry, there's usually an economic meltdown when I'm overseas.
