For stings, keep a can of this stuff in the cupboard. I haven't used it since I was a kid, but whenever somebody would get stung, Mom would pull out an aging pink can and give a spritz. Works wonders.

Sting sites were so itchy yesterday! My mother would break out the bactine, and like you mentioned, the can was mighty old. How did we survive using those ancient products before the advent of expiration dates?! :)

Well, the bush does house a number of bird nests, so I sort of feel badly that the top is open. I sort of wish I had taken another 6 inches off, so that when it starts growing again, it will not be so tall. Next time.
