More than four minutes faster than than the time I ran the race last summer. Maybe the weather was a bit better for you, but mostly I'm just slower. I did run the whole way, though at the time I was wondering whether I was wasting energy bouncing up and down, and would be faster if I just powerwalked the whole thing. Maybe I should try that this year and see how it compares.

The trail out to the hang glider launch is bemoaned by many as being pretty awful, though I don't mind it so much. But many people try to do it in a single trip, while I make two (once with just the glider, and once with my harness and other gear). Launching, by the way, doesn't happen from the wooden platform itself, but from the rock at the right-hand end of it. It's not the most comfortable launch around, but it's not bad.
