Maybe you saw a tortoise, but you did not see a turtle.

I take it the billygoat is still the best event ever?

Oh. Boo. Still, I've never seen a tortoise in the wild either!

Well, I think you would enjoy it. I was not a fan, as you might have guessed!

Yes she did. Box turtles and their friends like snapping turtles are common in CT. Some terrestrial turtles seem to known also as tortoise, but turtles wander around here from time to time.

Apologies for pedantism, we had to work pretty hard with James (in NJ aged 3) to keep him on the straight and narrow. As in, "Its not a ****ing ZEE-bra, its a ZEH-bra"

Whatever you call them, they are pretty amazing to see in the wild.

We don't get many zeebras in these parts. You got us there.

I'm sure some rather overweight women are wearing ZEE-bras somewhere in the US. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything.

No zeebras in CT! Too far north I guess: when I first came to Philly the XC club took me on the "zebra run" in Fairmount Park. Which, I have to say, was nice.

Of course, we have zebras here too, on the Corstorphine Hill map. No turtles though, nor tortoises.

ZZZZ
