Orienteering in glasses is fine in dry weather. The trick to keeping glasses on is to get a neoprene glasses strap, as used by water sports enthusiasts (canoeists, windsurfers, sailers etc); it holds the glasses firmly on your head so they don't bounce around or try to fall off.
eg, Croakie. It's really b/sad if they fall to the ground and one cannot see to find them. Seconds add up. Larry B always had/s a bright pc of plastic on one of the temples to find if they fe/all off. Better not to lose in first place. Recall a USOC in Delaware Water Gap & some poor soul had lost his glasses. I had no time to spare in passing. I think I stopped for 10" but it was his problem...time was wasting.
I've needed glasses since the 6th grade & dealing w/ rain/fogginess can be very distracting. Had contacts but had corneal abrasion issues which led me away. Accommodation would be an issue now - not sure how well they deal w/ that. I've admired the one contact, one naked eye sol'n. Lasik works for some but I believe glasses might be needed for reading even after the procedure. Aging eyes are just another potential frustration:-).
yeah, I bet, think will stick with the contacts though, as do really prefer running with them! although they can also get ejected from your eye and then *impossible* to find...
It's also possible to eject one from your eye via e-punch stick and still be able to put it back. But that's a unique scenario.
Stick with contacts!
