Is there any word about sanctioning for these races? I understand Orienteering USA is dying to get its starts numbers up for this year, in particular A meet starts, which were down something like 6% in 2010 vs. 2009, and are "dramatically downward" for Q1 2011... perhaps it/Sanctioning can make some accommodations even if the application is late?
Just back from Blue Mtn. and the 2011 Junior Training camp so I am Very up to date on the lodge. As Wyatt posted there are 15 male and 15 female beds available. It has been decided to make sure that we can cover the cost of the rental that we will go with a $50 charge for the weekend. With this charge I will supply coffee/hot water in the morning and charcoal for grilling if ask to do so by anyone or any group. The kitchen has a refrigerator but NO freezer. The stove is gas and has 6 burners and 2 ovens. There is also a grill with the stove but if you use it you will need to clean it. There is a very sad collection of cooking equipment there and every time we have used it, it is always different what is or isn't there. SO, if you plan to do any cooking bring ALL of your cooking equipment. Also there is not any dish washing supplies so you will need that as well. If there are enough people interested in going together for a meal or two and would like for me to organize it, I will but I understand that everyone has their own menu for races and that is fine. There are 2 showers in each dorm for our use. It is a very nice lodge. There is a grocery store within a mile of the place for those that will need to shop on arrival. If you have any other questions about the lodge please contact me directly at the link that Wyatt has posted above. Email me your reservation and then send me your payment of $50 to Janet Porter, 438 Main Street, Red Hill, PA 18076. Your payment will confirm your reservation.
Thank you
Janet Porter

@Tundra/Desert: Sanctioning has never received anything from the organizers, despite frequently making positive noises about being willing to consider late-ish applications. The hard deadline is very near, though.
I see that the event is sanctioned. Many thanks to the organizers and the Sanctioning Committee!
The sanctioning committee will be even happier when the organizers get around to posting more details. We're already bending the rules to sanction anything this late. Please get a move on!
Note also that only classes on blue and red are sanctioned (all classes on these courses, including non-Trials classes which compete on red, but no other classes on any other courses), per request of the organizers.
Hi everyone--
I will not be using a cabin space, so I suppose one extra is available.
where the heck do you register??
Please see
this reply for a continuation of questions on sanctioning and registration. (Leaving this thread for Cabin space registration information...)
There are still beds available for the Team Trial weekend and there are few people that had emailed Sam that they were interested in staying there that I have on my list that I have not heard from or received their payments. They are Andy Strat, Cristina & Melissa, and Alison Campbell. Please let me know if you are still interested in staying at the lodge and when I can expect your payment.
Thanks
Janet
