A threatened complaint to the ACCC for misleading advertising because the Oceania website said Badja hadn't been used for a major event for a decade and it's actually only 9 1/2 years.

Ummm...won't it be 10 years anyway by the time the races come round in October (or were there NOL races or something that I've forgotten about) - and don't you have to be just slightly astounded by anyone who can be quite so literal?

The 9 1/2 years is as of October. The Australian Middle Distance Championships were held there on the weekend after Easter 2002.
