There has been a long history of distance running in Hamilton since the oldest road race in North America takes place here every late March (30km Around the Bay Road Race). In the early years of the Boston Marathon (which started 2 years after the ATB) Hamilton runners won several of them.

So, if you wanted to make a Canadian film about a person training for Boston you would set it in Hamilton.

I enjoy watching good running movies (Chariots of Fire still being the best). But since this movie takes place in Hamilton
it will get high marks.

The movie shows the boy training in the Dundas Valley (at Sherman's Falls) - site of the 1986 World Cup and Hamilton's nice part of town. It also shows him trianing in front of the steel mills - the not so nice part of town.

You should be able to find the movie (winner of the Paris film Festival) in your small independent theatres.

I eagerly await a review by Nev-Monster.
