Discussion: 2011 Laramie Daze

For those of you who may have already taken notice of the 2011 dates for Laramie Daze and who are considering attending, please note our date change, which basically moves up the event by a week. Among other things, this will make motels both more available and affordable. The dates will run August 23 - August 28, and are about to be submitted to the Forest Service for their approval.

As usual, the event will conclude with the Rocky Mountain Goat, and will include 5 races in all plus much opportunity for additional afternoon training sessions. There are no bad times on the high altitude, short grass prairies and forest of the Laramie Range, and this will be a great opportunity for intermediate and advanced orienteers to improve their O' skills and fitness levels.

We have received word from the Forest Service that our basic framework for areas and dates we're planning on for 2011 is approved, and so therefore all systems are now go. Ride 'em, cowboys and cowgirls!

Fees have been set at an exceptionally attractive rate this year to appeal to those who like to stretch their pennies as far as they can. But even so it's possible to register for still less, taking advantage of an early bird discounted rate, so long as you register by the deadline. But you will have to make the effort to check the web site for yourself and enter on time to qualify! ; )
