Orienteers,

If you're like most orienteers you are looking to use your limited vacation time and money to do as much orienteering as possible. The Rochester Orienteering Club has designed this year's OUSA Convention Week with you in mind. Wedged in between five “A” meet events in Syracuse and Buffalo from August 1-5 ROC will offer you four E-punch sprints, and four days of training courses on four different maps. In addition we will throw in a Bike O, Canoe O, Night O and Trail O. All these orienteering events will be covered by one all-inclusive Convention fee.
We will also be hosting the OUSA Trial Orienteering Championships at the end of the week. In addition we will be offering a Level 1 Coaches Certification Course, a junior camp, a mapmaking workshop, a youth camp and baby-sitting.
We are also interested in adding additional workshops and events during the week. If you are interested please send me an e-mail with a brief description of what you have in mind.
You can find the current schedule and program at,

Rick and gang a great schedule of activities, training and workshops, I'm really looking forward to attending a convention again this summer since it has been a few years since we have had one on the east coast. As some of us have to financially plan well in advance for their summer vacation, when could we expect to have the convention fee cost and prices for the evening activities such as the mini golf, amusement park etc. Thanks again to all of you for all the hard work your are doing to make this a great summer experience. Really looking forward to it.

Convention Fee is likely to be between $36-$40. This will also include all the picnics and social events. Estimates for mini-golf $5, regular golf $12, amusement park $15
Wegman's dinner $5-10, Canoe rentals $20. The cost of the US Trail O Champs TBD by organizers.
Hope that helps you plan. The Canal Cities Orienteering Festival group will be handling registration and publicity. They should have something out soon.

And, I can just pop in the car and drive to this excellent event! Convention, AGM, orienteering, fun with friends, great dinners, and more, right here in my backyard. And, I think we may even get in a Team USA Silent Auction. Thanks to all who have worked so hard to make this happen.
