Well, OK is starting from a pretty small base, but we made an effort to increase starts last year and we've got a modest goal of increasing starters and OK-primary OUSA members. We're also looking to increase the number of maps. Again, all of the goals are quite modest, but Mary (club prez) has been explicit in her communications with the club membership about the goals and about them being related to the overall OUSA strategic plan.

We're not so much doing anything special other than let everyone in the club (at least the local OKers) know about the targets. But just being explicit about targets usually helps, especially when you can see that reaching the targets is not so hard and would be a good thing.

I have an impression - based mostly on following discussions on Attackpoint - that orienteers are waiting around for someone to do something. If lots of people did just a little bit, it'd make a difference.

And some of the goals in the strategic plan should be cake. Like:

The Senior Team will generate new content on at least a twice monthly timeframe on its official blog: http://usa-orienteering.blogspot.com/

Carol's Team is even smaller than OK, but our goal is to double our starts this year. Granted, that's only going from 200 to 400, but that's our goal. FWIW, it has nothing to do with an edict from OUSA because we aren't even an OUSA club; we just need more starts to survive.

Interesting. I wonder if there are other clubs already with the program.
