Hi Andy, Skye sounds really lovely! I was beginning to be worried about you, don't think your log has been that quiet for a while...

I see EckO are doing a run in Tayvallich on Sunday, which also sounds excellent, wish I could be there, Taynish is beautiful.. We'll be navigating round Temple Newsam instead..

Yes, Skye was great, Mike! We were staying in a cottage on the shore in Ord, down in the south, with a view of the Cuillin and otters to watch while eating breakfast. I'm sad not to be doing the Tayvallich run tomorrow, but feeling a bit crook. I see you orienteered at Arnside Knott. How was that? We used to stay in a caravan in Silverdale, so I have fond memories of exploring that area.

The Arnside Knott event was really good fun! We have friends who live in Silverdale, who we spent New Year with, so it gave a really good excuse to run on a new area for me. I've walked on the Knott before, but only on the paths, so it was a good navigational challenge. Sam and Charis when out together too and got 14 controls, some of which were fairly technical, needing bearings to features in the middle of a bit of wood, so I was very proud of them too! The Odd / Even format of the score event made it more of a challenge, but I suppose removed the need for 2 maps...

Charis (now 9) ran Temple Newsam white yesterday and did so without any help or shadowing. She made a 90 degree error at one control, but managed to relocate herself after a couple of minutes and sort it all out, so she's getting there...
