Hey all, this is Leif from Montana State University

Its been awhile, but I am back and getting geared up for the NAOCs. I am flying in a bit late and was looking for a ride to the sprint on friday. My flight comes in at 1518. Can anyone give me a ride or direct me to other transportation options?

Also is there anyone I could stay with as well?

+ looking for a ride to the airport on sunday. My light leaves at 1800

You can respond here to to my mobile at (360) 509- 4996

Best wishes,

Leif

hey leif, how are you doing? One way to get around is GO train and that transportation network, but if you are getting in that late you probably need a ride with someone.

oops, just saw a note from Hammer saying the first start is at 430pm, so you will definitely need a ride. On a side note, does anyone have room to take me from the sprint to Rocky Ridge Ranch (official accommodation) and to the banquet and wine-o? Other that those things the transportation network in southern Ontario looks fairly reliable.

Matt if you're flying into TO, just make sure to leave lots of time to get to Hamilton before the sprint if you're taking the bus. Nothing direct from Pearson, so you have to transfer along the way.

thanks for the tip Mr. Pither. I checked on the GO website and I will have to transfer in TO, but it is not a problem as I get in Thursday afternoon.

Hi, Leif. I'm psyched that you're coming to NAOC! I arrive at 9 a.m. but can probably come back and get you if you can't get a ride from someone arriving at a similar time. I'll have to make sure it will work with my start time, though, once the times are posted.

I forgot to mention that I'll be staying at Rocky Ridge Ranch, so if you arrange to stay there, you can probably bum rides off of me to go to the store/disco/whatever. You wouldn't need rides to the middle and long, since they're right next to the ranch. Hmm, does it even make sense for me to rent a car?

yeah Eric. do some visits (Niagara is close and there are lots of wineries in the Horseshoe..if you can't wait for the monday wine-o ).

It's a few km to drive to the banquet too.

Bender:
If it weren't for the embargoed map inbetween the Ranch and the Mohawk Inn it could be a reasonable walk to the banquet, but because of the map you'd have to go well out of the way making it too far to walk. However, it is a short enough drive that back and forth car trips could be made if needed between the ranch and the banquet.

Better yet, we'll stay at Bender's beautiful country place, and he can drive us back and forth.

I am arriving Thursday 17h00 in Pearson and looking for a ride towards Hamilton (my accommodation is in Burlington). Bus system is retarded, shuttle ridiculously overpriced! Would much rather give an orienteer some gas money! Let me know if you have a spot.

Are we having dinner again at East Side Mario's on Friday night?

Should there be a social event on Sunday Night?

The banquet's Saturday night, I think. I had just heard rumours from Star that they were going to try to have people go to East Side Mario's on Friday night as we can have the whole back room to ourselves after 9:00.

No official plans for another ESM dinner but that doesn't mean people can out something together.
Nev, I'm up for a Sunday night bender (at Bender's?).

There is a bender going down Sunday evening chez' Bender's ...but "you gotta have coup's to get in". Well, really it's just that the turkey is only big enough for twelve and considering most of the BC orienteering community will be living with me over the course of the weekend, the turkey's pretty much spoken for.

Salal's been cutting out recipes for Sunday dinner at Bender's for weeks now so you know it's going to be tasty!
