Hi,
Does someone now if you can download your workout from a Garmin 110 or 210 directly onto AP, as it works with the 305, 310, 405?
Thanks for your help.

I didn't realize this before, but I don't think these will work directly at the moment. The work-around is that you have to save a TCX file first and then you can upload it. This applies to the FR 110, 210, and Edge 500.

The reason is that these devices directly transfer only in garmin's newer FIT file format, and Attackpoint doesn't understand that yet. I will plan on fixing this soon.

Great! Thanks!

What? Garmin developed yet another file format (with no public documentation) instead of using defacto-standard open formats? Tell me it's not true, that's so unlike them.

I have gotten my hands on a 210 and taught AP a thing or two about FIT files. The direct transfer now seems to be working properly. I think it should also be working for the 110 and 500, but haven't yet verified.

Hmmm this could be a gumby question - if so apologies. set my HR zones on the Forerunner 210 last night but when I went to load it onto AP today it didnt split the run data into activity types. Did I do something wrong? Is there an option I havent chosen? I read the main Garmin transfer thread but couldnt work out what to do from that....

No need to apologise Jase, we all know you're a gumby :)
You need to go into 'Edit Intensities and HR Zones' in the Settings section here on AP - that should sort it out.

Is there an Australian/ English dictionnary available somewhere on the web?
gumby?
sledge?
I always thought Gumby was a two-dimensional little green boy?

MAde me laugh gordhun! And think about the language we use so sorry about that - fair questions!

A Gumby is someone who is new at something, usually IT related, and doesn't really know anything and often asks stupid questions. Thinking about its origins I guess it is from the little green man you mention - the green man is green, a common term here for being new at something, and also like the gumby doll when you are new you stand in the corner and are pretty much useless (until you get some experience and knowledge).

Sledge is a sporting term that derives from the game of cricket and is used to describe insults hurled on the field at your opponent. Eg you might 'sledge' someone telling them they are going to get lost in the O race today. I probably havent used it in a strictly correct way as a sledge should be kept on the sporting field however NewPatrick and I have raced against each other many times and sledged each other (in a friendly fashion) many times hence my usage here.

Helped or made it worse? :)

A noob and trash-talk.

Helped. At least it did until jj threw in 'noob'. Is that short for 'newbie' which is short for newcomer or possibly a combination of newcomer and beginner?

Gordhun: When talking to Newpatrick, it is helpful to have access to the
web.

Luckily there are a few older people around to remember the
Gumbys definitely not some little green American, but a family whose "Brain Hurts".

PS, Sledge is what the "S" in M21AS is for. Acejase is being a bit bashful since he practically invented the term.
Dec 28, 2010 5:42 AM #
Anvil:
Indeed. Acejase is the Sledge master of Australian orienteering - to race against Jase is to be sledged by Jase, they are one and the same.

...and then he betrayed the entire Sledge community by running Elites. Betrayed, I tell you.

O-ing/NewPatrick you are too kind.

Juffy I don't know what to say. I didnt realise my departure had caused such heartbreak. ;) I'm not sure why coming second last in elites (I usually beat NewPatrick) became more satisfying than Sledge. I think maybe I couldnt handle the Sledge hangovers anymore.....

Juffy:
You were, like, our IDOL, man. We wanted to be you, and run as badly as you, and wear funny boxer shorts just like you. Even when I was calling you an overly cheerful bastard, it was totally in a respectful and envious way. And then you had to go and ruin it all by becoming just another elite like all the other ones, albeit slower.

Anyway I thought last place was mine...the couple of times I've been silly enough to run elites it has been, anyway. Who's this NewPatrick guy, and does he claim to be more crap than I am? *prod*

PS. Come to Easter and run in Sledge again. <3
