Hope it wasn;t too high-speed a crash Andy, and only your pride was bruised!
No, fortunately not too fast, so no harm done. Welcome back on Attackpoint - I saw your log was updated for the first time in a while! Is it a night event you're planning for Beckett Park?
Glad you're ok.
Yes. I;ve been very lax with my logging, although I haven;t been getting more than a run a week or so for the past few months. Orienteering participation has been woefully poor this year. Sam is playing for a footy team now and they have matches almost every Sunday, so there is a significant diary clash. I'm hoping this might turn round a bit though, 'cos he and Charis did the yellow at Shipley Glenn Sunday before last and came 3rd I think, so he's been asking when can he next go to an event, which is good news!
I'm also excited today though 'cos Abby is buying me a Garmin Forerunner 305 for Christmas, currently nearly half price on Amazon (think they're clearing out stock for the new models). I really like the idea of being able to properly assess where I've gone when orienteering using routegadget and the ability to upload routes into mapmyrun too will be useful.
Sorry, waffling now... Yes Beckett Park is a night score event and I've split it into 2 maps 'cos the area isn't quite big enough for 45mins, but might be a push to get to all the controls in time, so I'm hoping for a good competition.
That sounds hopeful about Sam! Will you be around at Christmas? We'll be down in Leeds for a few days. We might go to the event at Skipwith on the way back up. We're heading to Skye the day after that to stay over New Year.
Beckett Park - you should put a control in my folks' front garden. They could serve tea and cakes :).
Yes, we're in Leeds for Christmas, so it would be lovely to see you and Marieke! Let me know when you'll be down. I was thinking about the Skipwith event too, but wondered what a 'Prize' event was.. Prizes for EBOR members, or anyone? (not that it'd be likely I'd get one..)
I'll remember your folks for next time, thought I'm not sure their house is on the map at the moment....
