The practise map and the latest instructions have been posted to the event web site along with additional photographs.

Some churn in the entry list.

Will the trophy I am supposed to deliver arrive in time?

How is the parkour training going - over that fence, around that fence, through that fence -'...your have been jolted by the electic fence...'

Is there a difference, subtle or otherwise, between Rogaine and Rogaining, the latter being what this event is titled on its website?

That's a can of worms. Me not being quite a native speaker, here's how I understand it:

Rogaining is a sport/activity.
Rogaine is a discipline, if it belongs to some other sport or class of activities.
A rogaine is an event/competition in the sport of rogaining.

So in countries/jurisdictions in which rogaining is a separate sport, you have, for example, the Australian Rogaining Championships. In others in which it's a discipline of orienteering, you have the U.S. Rogaine Championships.

Native speakers from different areas perhaps have different opinions, from mine and between themselves.

saw the map and clue description. So, "reentrant" is gully" and "reentrant, upper part" is "head of the gully". Also, in the sample map, control 43 is placed in simply a stream ("watercourse"), without an additional modifier to remove ambiguity on its location, such as bend (I guess it's allowed...)

Oh no not the legendary/mythical head of gully!? An occasional mumbled complaint of mine here in NSW.

I was trying to explain this to my WRC team mate on a recent rogaine whilst rogaining in/at a head of gully and I started from this personal perspective - a) as far as I am concerned they are mythical - b) if the course setter does not agree with me then I expect to see a '...cirque...', a hollow, a bowl of a clearly identifiable shape with a clearly defined single exit - c) see a). This is my humble opinion others can disagree.

Re rogaine/rogaining not sure the purpose of the question really more interested in various physical niggles at this time.

Ooooh, here's a new one for the books. Now we don't even have to have held the event to start bitching about the controls! :)

... with no reflecting tape...

Juffy I would not complain afterall in my case it is likely that the loose nut behind the map is loose again.

Though it is an interesting concept, 'the prospective complaint'!

I like the a saddle on a low broad spur that seemed fulll of saddles, the sunrise and semi arid location of the Flinders Rangers South Australia made up for it.

Re reflecting tape, I had a conversation with a friend at a rogaine after being blinded at the Hash House by yet another set of thousand leumens lights that the points paid for controls should be adjusted down wards according to the power of your head torch etc. Of course we were joking...

I should declare that I am on the jury panel for WRC.

Sherpes when you say you have seen the control descriptions where are they? For the practise course I presume?
