On the Champs results page, there are now links to photo albums from Betsy Hawes, Clem McGrath, and Cathleen Crowley (EMPO).

There's also a link to an article from the local paper, the Glens Falls Post Star.

Excellent article - kudos to the journalist who 'got it right'. He understood the sport and focussed on local interest.

Actually, the journalist is a "she", despite the seemingly "male" name. [As name conventions change, us older (?) folks have a tough time adjusting.] And you're right, she understood the sport. We are hoping to see her again as a competitor at our Club Champs event at Moreau on Saturday, Nov 13.

Before you ask: No, the courses will not go up to the plateau; they will go approximately as high as the Brown and Orange courses did. This is for two reasons:

1- It is an extreme logistical task to get the required equipment and water up there, and we won't have the person power to do it for this event; and

2- Gun hunting season has opened, making it considerably more dangerous on the plateau; the lower part of the Park is closed for hunting.

It would still be great to have many of those who enjoyed the 2-Day to come back for a reprise over the lower elevations.

The photos posted on Flickr by Furlong are awesome. I hadn't realized how interesting the course was on the second course. Wish now I'd have run it, especially to run through the Performing Arts Center and the Historic Bath Houses. I hope you hold a race there again.

Yes, Furlong's pictures are awesome.

The first time I had been to the Saratoga Spa, I thought it would be great to run a sprint there. And EMPO and the Team delivered. I was really happy about that.

I've finally posted the photos taken by EMPO's volunteer, Bob Goodwin.

They're in two albums, one for each day, and are the first two listed.

"I hear you went up to Saratoga..."

Sorry that I missed thsoe sprints, but since Adam had a calc exam on Friday morning, there was no way we could make it on time. The maps look really fun!
