Where are you wearing it? Upper arm is better than wrist, and on your head is better than upper arm. No settings to have it record more recently with this model...

Better maps - dial up or high speed connection?

In the meantime, do a File/Export History (if that is a choice in the software...), send it to me, and I'll see what you got.

Upper arm is where I had it. And I have a DSL line.

I'll send the files to you this evening.

Them GPS thingys can be a pain. I have a new FRWD system from Finland that I wore on Saturday at Pawtuckaway. Reception seemed to be pretty good for the first half of the red course, with a few episodes of the beeping "hey, can't see the satellites". Seemed to be much worse when I got onto Big Island, went into almost continuous beep-beep-beep mode. I'm blaming that distraction for my floundering around in the woods for the last couple of controls.

I had it on my upper arm, and in a couple instances, running with my upper arm held parallel to the ground seemed to give it enough view of the satellites to regain a fix, but that's a damn awkward way to run.

Not sure if the batteries might have been running down a bit, making it harder for it to maintain a lock, or if it was just thicker vegetation cover.
