The
Sprint Series Standings have been updated to reflect Rick and Susie DeWiit's WCOC sprint double-header at Hoyt Boy Scout Camp and the Peak-2-Peak sprint in Ontario. We have a new leader for the men (Ken Walker), while Samantha Saeger increased her lead by winning both WCOC sprints. Moving up in the men's standings is Jon Torrance, who won the Peak-2-Peak sprint.
The list of Honorary Commissioners (aka the course setters, without whom we would have no sprints!) continues to grow, now including: Vladimir Gusiatnikov, Matthew Robbins, Randy Hall, Steve Gregg, Daniel Schaublin, Rick and Susie DeWitt, and Mike Waddington.
For all other wannabe sprinters, the message is clear -- if you want to be among the best, you have to sprint fast, and sprint often. Actually, even if you aren't so fast, if you just sprint often you can place pretty high (witness the high standing of the Commissioner and his wife!).
Sprints are being added to the schedule on a regular basis. Has your club got any sprints on its schedule? To get a sprint on the Sprint Series schedule, just let me know about it at least 20 days in advance.
Peter
By the way, thanks to Assistant Commissioner Boris Granvoskiy for the compilation ofthe standings!
