at this rate there could very well be snow for the goat, particularly on the north side and some deeper reentrants. But at least you've been training in the stuff - guess I better get my butt off the road and into the woods.... :-)

If I could, I would. But think of the bright side -- no mud, no humidity, no deer flies, no poison ivy, no snakes. Even the bears are still in hibernation, though they must be getting restless.

Well, it's Friday evening and dinner is cooking, and while I'm waiting, I'm looking over this year's Billygoat course (having been asked to course consult.) From what I can tell from Laramie, there is still one hell of a lot of snow out on the Billygoat course, especially around the area of controls 3 thru 23. Hitting the ski wax could be crucial to success this year!

Highly recommend practicing with klister on the o-shoes for good grip. Put some between the toes, too, just for luck.

Well at least the running should be easy, all the mapped forest should be white ...

Hey swampfox, what's the best skip this year? I think it's only fair that Kenny and I make this decision ahead of time so as to avoid a repeat of last year's Billygoat disaster...

Well, iffn it was me, and my race tactical plan was all set up on followin Peter G no matter hell or high water, and I seen he was fixin to lead the group on a charge down a spur that done dead and died in some god lonely uncrossable death swamp, I believes I might consider skippin there.
