A reminder that starting with this year, WOC qualifiers no longer earn ranking points. You have to make it to the final to get points.

However, there are six more World Ranking events remaining in Canada in 2010. We hope for a full slate of events in both the U.S. and Canada (six) in 2011.

Great work. Glad we were able to provide suitable venues.

Samantha:
Thanks everyone! It's great to know that people are rooting for me!

I also want to point out that both Sandra and Hillary were in the top 100 last spring. We're becoming a stronger team together!
May 10, 2010 10:58 PM #
BorisGr:
Yup, Sandra was as high as 97th and Hillary 85th in spring ยด09.

Also, Kristin Hall was as high as 105th in 2001. On the men's side, the best we seem to have had is Eric in 170th and James in 181st (plus Brian May 121st back in 2004 when he was an American :) . Ross is currently 204th and moving up!

And for completeness, Alex Jospe was ranked 81st in the world in Ski-O at the end of the 2008/2009 season. Ok, I am done now.

Sam, we (Rick and I) were "watching" via the internet and so very impressed with your great run. Yep, as I always remind my students, you have to put the hard work in along with the innate talent. A lot of hard work. Way to go!

Great job Sam. We miss you over here but all of your hard work over there is really paying off so we can't complaint. Best Wish for WOC in a couple of weeks.

Sam is indeed doing great this year - but you do realize that this thread (and its title) is over two years old?

tRicky:
Who cares, she deserves our support even if she is not currently in the top 100 or ever again.
Jun 19, 2012 3:28 AM #
Ricka:
I agree and disagree with tRicky. Hmm, .500 is higher than average for me agreeing with tRicky! And no, I'm still not his antipodal alter-ego. :)

With her speed, spirit, and OK Linne training, Sam's on the way up!

Oh yeah, I'm 244th in the World MTBO rankings. I deserve my support also. Perhaps I can support Sam for 50% of the time and me for 50% of the time.

That many people do MTBO tRicky, wow...
Jun 19, 2012 1:19 PM #

Yes there are three people in the USA who do it.

Well, thank you! This was the first time I've been to Jukola and it was a fantastic experience. Running relays over here is one of the big changes from home and certainly some of the most exciting times of the season!
