I like it. The only problem would be that CSU is the only club in North America that can field a team...

Obviously there would be a lot of teams with submaximal M-21 filling, and we would encourage regional teams, not simply club teams. Also a 7-man relay might work better than a 10-man relay. If we gave awards for an open class and some kind of handicapped class, there would still be something for North America minus CSU to compete for.

The big relays are cool because they are BIG - lots of people in the woods at once. So, just have people run multiple times in the night. Maybe the key is to have 5-man teams where each person runs twice...?

Don't make it a TioMila, make it a Jukola! Make it warmer, get charity teams in - if the technical difficulty has to drop slightly to achieve this, it would be worth it for increase volume! Teams of 5, everyone runs twice (? maybe, not sure about this one?), or larger teams with legs of easier TD. Don't get too bothered about people running for more than one team, so that they can fill in empty spots on other teams (especially so people don't travel miles to run a short medium difficulty course.

You're never going to have an event like TioMila, but as Cristina says, it's the number of people that count. With the right marketing and structure, it could be awesome.
