Isn't that where compromises come in to play? I've had some fantastic trips running up hills with people either much faster or much slower than me. And for slow, hilly runs, I figure there's far more to be gained from good company than lost through spending more time in the outdoors. In fact, I'm not sure that spending more time outdoors is really a loss...

This is true; my mountain running experience is very limited. Either running or hiking would be excellent. Provided the fast people like you don't mind waiting up for slower people like me, it should be a worthwhile arrangement. Have you spent much time in the Whites?

In the Whites... three days of winter walking (actually, more like two and a half days and half a night) and a night spent sleeping in a parking lot in a blizzard. I've also done a modicum of winter walking in the Torridon Munroes and the Cairngorms; and run up a few scores hills without snow cover in England, Scotland, Australia and New Zealand.

In short, I haven't done enough fun stuff in my life.

Memorial day trip? Unfortunately I'd be on the slower end of the spectrum...

Memorial Day weekend would likely be good for many, but Lori and I will both be at a wedding. I was looking at the weekend of 12-13 June for our first foray; there are no orienteering events scheduled. We could hit up the Presidentials, Moosilauke, or perhaps Franconia Ridge. Thoughts?

I'll be in London, but you should have lots and lots of daylight if the weather is good.

Yup, I will be in the UK too that weekend. Alex, are you in London at the beginning of that week too? I'm heading back there on the Tuesday!

No, I leave Monday afternoon. Seems like that's a popular place to be that weekend!

Oh, that's a shame! Never mind! What are you there for?

My grandfather lives in London, so I'm visiting.
