That's right, with all the bad there has to seep in a little good, and one of the good things about orienteering in the Rockies in the summer is: no muggy weather! If you want some humidity, you will have to manufacture it yourself, perhaps by wrapping yourself in the shower curtain and turning on the water really hot. Even then, it might not be enough. Darn.

Day 10 of the 1000 Day will be the model event for the US Champs at Buena Vista. There will be big views of the Collegiate Peaks across the valley (unless there are big views of clouds and veils of rain, like there were last year.)

I seem to remember quite a bit of rain last year in colorado. what does the farmers almanac say?

I believe the prediction is for biblical flooding. Roads will all wash out and mountains will disappear, reappearing somewhere in the Mississippi Delta, granule by granule, sand bit by sand bit. There could be some sedimentary fines settling out down that way too.
