It's 63F and sunny here in Laramie in the late morning. How does that running weather compare with wherever you are? You could turn off that air conditioning and get out here to the real thing, if you were determined!

Day 6 of the 1000 Day is actually not going to be a day at all, but rather the Night. The US Night Championships, that is. We have brand new, freshly mapped terrain for most of the race, and for those who were at last year's most excellent Night Champs at Lake Manitou, this will make for a contrasting experience. Expect high speed running, very open terrain, the lights of Cheyenne, glowing cow eyes, and--if you're lucky--maybe even a stream crossing or two. It should be a terrific race!

Good thing I'm missing it. I might get hypothermia running in temps 40 degrees below what I'm used to.

Heck, with our AC only partially functioning, I can't walk to the bathroom without sweating!

Hot? I can see the window glass melting now, and it is past midnight.
I am seriously training for the night o champs, so I stay up late and read maps in the dark.

Dang, Daniel, Why didn't I think of that! I didn't run yesterday 'cause of the heat, but I should have just gone out at 10pm.....Hmm track intervals at night with a map?

I run almost all my summer interval workouts between 10PM and midnight. This heat is normal for St. Louis.

The summer I spent in St Louis was one of the most remarkable experiences - 100 degrees and near saturation humidity, day after day. Went for some nice runs at night, though, including one at the Zoo. They have a pretty good map, free admission some nights, and it was fun doing o-practice running from the lions to the zebras, etc.
