Is it possible to use AP with Garmin uploads without going through Sporttracks? What are the pros and cons of dual logging with ST and AP?
To upload directly look for "Garmin Transfer" in the upper right on your add/edit training forms. You will need to have the Garmin Communicator plugin installed.
I cant think of any pros of logging twice. The garmin communicator in attackpoint makes my life much simpler!
After trying it and getting the hang of it, I agree...goodbye SportTracks! Next simplification...minutes and hours only?
minutes and hours only...
I give you the orienteering sprint race where ever second counts! Hubmann lost the WOC sprint to the flying french man by less than a second a few years ago
Your point is valid, but it was
Matthias Merz who came in 2nd at the 2007 WOC sprint to Gueorgiou by 0.9 seconds. Hubmann was 4th, 25.2 seconds back of Gueorgiou and 0.3 seconds ahead of 5th place Martins Sirmais.
Ok, seconds do count...do miles or kilometers?
run 1km..... time yourself. Can you run a mile in the same time?
@hill, it depends on the speed you are running the 1km in
what i ment was a flat out 1km compaired to a 1miler
Looking forward to GPX imports... and TPX, too!
Would also be good to log calories. This can be a useful measure of your activity if you have to use other types of training such as elliptical trainers due to injury, recovery, or whatever. Swimming, too, for that matter. This would also make TPX upload useful.
A very basic GPX track upload capability is now available at the bottom of the add/edit training form. some limitations:
- it only works for tracks (with time data), not routes.
- only the first track in the file will be imported.
- if you want to split/merge tracks, or trim off stopped time at the beginning/end of tracks, for now you have to do it yourself before uploading.
TCX file import may be supported in the future.
Let me know if you run into any trouble.
Great. Thanks for GPX upload feature.
thanks Ken - will give it a try when I get a chance...
I have put SportTracks to rest and have not regretted the move at all. I am looking forward to the future enhancements. Keep up the good work Ken, I think we all appreciate it greatly!
