Discussion: Online Entry open for Flying Pig XIV

Secure Online Entry is now open for Flying Pig XIV and the 2010 U.S. Interscholastic Orienteering Championship. Visit the Event Information Page for more information about the events and a full weekend of fun activities.

A reminder that fees increase in a few more days on March 21. Get your teams organized and get your entries in.

There is currently a minor glitch in the online registration page. After you enter your data, at the bottom of your data confirmation page before you "register", there is a line which says "extra fee added for payment by credit card" and computes an amount. This line is a relic of site development. No fee will actually be charged for paying online using Google checkout. This line will be eliminated from the form shortly, but for now, please ignore it. No extra fees have actually been charged to anybody who already registered / paid using Google checkout, nor will any be charged to anyone registering now.

The line about fees for credit card payment has been eliminated. We are sorry for any confusion. Nobody who paid by card was actually charged an extra fee.

Reminder, this Saturday, March 20 is the last day for entering without late fee. Entry without late fee will be possible up thru midnight Pacific time.

Interscholastic Teams: You must do an individual registration for each student on the online site. There will be a team information form available soon which will need to be filled out for each team, but all membners will still ned to be individually registered.

The deadline to register without late fee has been extended through Tuesday, March 23.

Entry without late fee closes tonight, March 23, at Midnight Pacific time. There will not be further extensions. If you are close but still trying to get information / team together, contact the registrar and we might give you a break, but only if we hear from you today.

We understand what a task it can be trying to get team registrations together, and money is always tight, so OCIN has decided we will NOT be imposing the $5 per race late fee. You may continue to register through this week. Registration will officially close March 31. After that time, we cannot guarantee to take additional entries.

Also, OCIN has arranged to have BSF7 or newer control units for all controls. That means we will no longer need to limit entrants to SI-5 or SI-6 cards. If you have already registered and signed up to rent a card, and no longer need a rental card, please notify the Registrar (see above) as soon as possible.

Extra items such as T-shirts and baseball tickets may run out - if you want those, register now. After today, it is first-come, first-serve.

Online Registration will stay open a couple more days (it was supposed to close tonight, March 31 at midnight). However, there will be a $5 per race late fee beginning tonight at midnight. If you have a problem getting data entered by tonight, please contact the registrar!

We have almost 400 entries. 94 attending the baseball game and 85 signed up for laser tag. Party at the Pig! You don't want to miss this one!

If you need to join or renew USOF membership, it MUST reach the USOF membership office by Tuesday. Nobody will be there to pick up mail after Tuesday. If you can't get a new or renewing membership to USOF by then, please bring payment and form to the event check-in.

Practice Areas are now open. There are 2 areas, one with 9 controls (south side) and the other with 10 (north side). Practice area maps may be downloaded from the event website, or picked up beginning hursday morning at the Event HQ.
