I'm going to be at the EM Institute in Mt Macedon for a work course all next week (ties in quite well with Eureka!) and was wondering if you had any tips for good runs around the area? Unfortunately I won't have a car so I might not be able to get out to Hanging Rock, etc. Thanks! :)

Lots of good runs, particularly west and north-west from EMA. I guess it's too late to post you a copy of the O map (which is good for showing where the tracks are even if you don't want to go into terrain), but if you can't find a South Australian who's got one you may be able to get one from the Ewels or de Haas households, who both live just off the map.

Great, thanks Blair! I'll see if I can track down a map before I go, but otherwise I'm sure I can find some of the areas you mention online. See you at Eureka.

Hi Fern,

I was at Macedon today, will be back there Saturday. I have uploaded a PDF file to the Bendigo Website

In the bottom right corner, you can see the the edge of a yellow circle, that is the Tony Clarke reserve, down the hill from EMA on Waterfall Rd.

The Classic Mt Macedon run, is when you run up to the cross from the top right corner of the map, look for MRWT, then onto the carpark, and along the west side of the Mt to Camels Hump, then on to Sanatorium Lake, before going onto Mt Towrong, and dropping back down to Mt Macedon Town, allow at these 2 hrs.

Some info here on the Parks Website
