NSW are struggling to win a raffle this year let alone a game of cricket. With 6 players in the Australian team it makes it hard to do well against the other states. Add a few big names with injuries to that 6 and NSW are really relying on reserves to fill the gaps.

In theory NSW could make it if all the planets aligned for them on that night like last year but in reality they have as much chance as the Demons winning the flag this year.

NSW did the win the title for worst import. Dwayne Smith is useless.

Probably not worth winning anyway. They havent been paid yet for winning the ICL last year!

The scheduling of the final of the Big Bash is not very smart, the final clashes with the One Day internationals so now if WA make the final then they likely lose Marsh but will get North back, they will also lose Gayle.

Michael Johnson the loyal WA player who has never yet played state cricket for WA will be rested from one day duty but will not be available for selection for WA.

I am sure other states have similar problems - so you take one team to get you to the final then swap it around for the final - does not make sense to me?

How many games has Gayle played for them? Hasnt he been injured for most of the Big Bash comp?

At least Victoria don't have to worry about complex scenarios - win (or tie, unless WA-Queensland is also a tie) tonight and they're through, lose and they're out.

NSW always has half the national team, but having all those injuries as well must make it pretty tough. WA may also lose Voges and have Mitch Marsh playing Aussie U/19s (but there are a couple of others from other states doing the same)
Even if Gayle doesn't play again, his signing sold out a couple of WACA games, so money well spent :)

Turned out the NSW scenario didn't get past first base: Victoria beat Tasmania.
