So, all the racers are abed and dreaming of perfect races and spiking controls in the forest. The middle final tomorrow will be held in similar( adjacent) terrain to today's qualifiers. Some of the runners will be eager to have another try at some tricky forests, and some of our runners will simply try to race well again.
As a reporter of the event I should possibly comment on our race preparation, or give a description of the woods. Instead I will comment as to which of the men on the team will have the fastest finish split in the chute tomorrow.
Keep in mind that the finish chute is long, and uphill, and the same as today's. I believe the fastest time in the qualifiers was Riki from New Zealand with 40 seconds ( a truly amazing physical feat). Our twin HVO boys Erin and Mike ran 47 seconds each. Andy was merely a few seconds back, at 52.
I think that despite bad blisters Mike will have the fastest time in the chute tomorrow, and I think he can beat the current best time of 40 seconds. His advantage tomorrow is having a shorter course to run beforehand, and knowing what the finish is like.
all the runners ( and coaches) thank you attackpoint users for your support.
Any stinging nettle experiences to report?
If there's some on the way to the GO control, they should be encouraged to run through it. Then they'll really want to sprint up that hill so they can stop to rub their legs sooner.
