just bolt those crappy other bindings right through the top of the plate. a big bolt with a nut on the bottom should do fine. alternatively, get some real boots.

Actually I think that is what people do with SNS bindings and NIS plates...

But the better solution is definitely Alpina boots =)

the rossi's hurt my ankles, the alpinas hurt my toes. take your pick. and they both seem to break easily. at least they come in shiny colors.

There are also Madshus and Fischer. I'm way smaller than both you guys, so haven't had issues with breaking boots, but I find Alpina super comfortable - just go to West Hill and try on everything they have till something fits...
