The only time I've climbed that pair was on a gloriously sunny mid-August day. Ben Vorlich smelled of heather honey from all the pollen, and there was quite a scramble up a very rocky gap between the 2 hills onto Stuc a Chroin. It would probably be fine now, but I was a lot younger and smaller then.
Your trip sounds very different, but just as memorable.
I once dug a snow hole into a humungous snow drift on the top of Ben Vorlich. much fun, and very cosy.
There were some mountain rescue guys up there doing that very thing. It was so lovely up there!
i remember i once got a lot of vocal support (abuse) from Kitch running up Sticky Groin. good times.
