I've been looking at a heart rate monitor and GPS unit to share with my daughter, and was looking into deals on the Polar line.
Until it looked like the RS300X G1 unit could only get distance and pace out of the GPS aspect... the more advanced units with actual mapping capabilities were more expensive. So I looked at other options.
The Forerunner 305 came out as a potential, and appeared to be modestly priced (comparatively) And then I discovered it for $139.99 on
amazon.com. Checking more - this very good deal appears to be a great deal - $139.99 for the Garmin Forerunner 305. free shipping, and $10 off when paying with discover, plus tax...
The sale is by Amazon, not a 3rd party. And then I noticed the "Hot Deal" star - so it looks like it might be part of Amazon's Black Friday specials.
So I got me one;-) I thought the AP community might like to know about this too... [And just a poster here, no relation to Garmin or Amazon, though Amazon does carry my book;-]
