Saw the front page of the Australian yesterday. Nice work on putting the PM in his place.

Putting the PM "in his place" isn't necessarily a good career move for a public servant :-). The quotes were accurate, but the story pulled a trick the Australian has been doing a bit lately - putting the quotes downplaying climate change in the part of the article on the front page and the rest of the context in the continuation of the story on the inside pages that nobody actually reads. This was done even more blatantly in the sea-level story they ran a couple of weeks ago.

As it happens, today I ran into the Age's industrial relations correspondent - with whom I used to share a school bus circa 1985. He used to work for the Australian and suggested that if you think they're bad on climate change you should see them on IR.

Checked out the latest Australian climate 'sceptics' web site. Seems to me they are the masters of selectivity to make the facts fit the story. I always thought scepticism implied an open mind. It is a natural condition of a scientist. Seems to me the self labelled sceptics should describing themselves as climate zealots.

Looks like basic radiation physics survived the hack. :-)

I've been following the chatter on realclimate.org.
A very good read.

Daly is still around? web site hits must be correlated to sun spot activity.

No he died. Apparently when Prof Phil Jones' emails were hacked into recently one was found with Jones saying that it was "good news" that Daly had died. His widow found out about it and it was front page news in his former regional newspaper. She maintains the site in his memory.
