Thanks to Jeff, Alex, Dan, Toby, Derek, and crew for a great kickoff to the Golden Gate Getaway. What a spectacular venue we have in Pacheco.

That IS a spectacular venue...wish I was there. It is particularly hard for us to see you already enjoying the fresh, green grass of spring, while we still have the whole winter ahead of us!

Somewhat disappointing to see all those windmills mar such a beautiful remote area. Could you Californians turn off a few lights, or down-size your new construction projects to try to scale back your need for more power? Or is the plan to build windmills in all the "vacant" land out West?

Geez, Rex. What were you thinking? Consuming clean, renewable energy by using both a digital camera and an internet-using computer?!?!

As usual California is far ahead of the rest of the country in power conservation. See this

I think those windmills offer a surreal beauty.

@chitownclark, perhaps it is time to practice all the conservation that you preach. How about unplugging your computer?

I'd be careful about sweeping statements like that. And I seem to remember about 5 or 7 years ago there was much uproar about there being a significant increase (like 10%) in California's power usage due to the proliferation of plasma TVs...
