Every year they come from all over the world, on just 48 hours notice, when the Mavericks surf competition is announced. Perhaps the greatest surfing competition on the planet.

And we're calling out everybody to show up next weekend at the Sprint Finals. The best sprint tournament on the continent, revived as a true tournament for 2009. You're getting one week's notice. Some of the usual suspects are already here or already coming. So where are the rest?
