The British Orienteering Federation, Scottish Orienteering Association and University of Edinburgh are delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for a High Performance Orienteering Coach to lead a Centre of Excellence based at the University of Edinburgh.

This newly created position involves supporting and coaching British and Scottish Orienteering Squad athletes, along with nominated student orienteers under Scotlands University of Sporting Excellences Winning students initiative, and working within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a programme capable of developing athletes to win medals at major international competitions.

You will be expected to have proven coaching experience at international level, work under minimal supervision, plan/prioritise own work-load and play a leading role in a performance sport environment, as well as working with British Teams at the World Championships and other major competitions.

Nice job, and really good to have got something like that funded. Hope you get good applicants, it works, and becomes a long term thing.

There is certainly a long term commitment from both British Orienteering and the University of Edinburgh, there is no lack of will to make it a success but of course time will tell.
