couldn't read that bit of map at all, found it eventually though didn't quite get to 7!
I think I thought I was running through the green with clearings but it was exactly the white...to be fair, I was completely drifting, so I thoroughly deserved it! What a poor show!
Round two on Barry Buddon?
Couldn't read the map? C'mon folks, those nice people at the IOF wanted us to shrink it to 1:15000 with 10 days notice...
I did wonder about taking the veg-boundary dots off (would certainly have done for a 1:15) - d'you think that would help?
Tired? They wanted an extra 30 mins on the winning time too.
I thought the open gave it a bit of variation and change of speed. Originally we had a loop in the bit where the old ladies were, but once the thinning happened it was less appealing, and we needed the open to get the length up.
Its probably hard to tell at speed, but the map around 5-6-7 is really spot on, once you allow for Stirling's mapping green for visibility.
I have no criticisms about the map at all, the bits I used were great. I'm not sure however, that "at speed" describes anything I did over the course! Any problems I had were down to me not being terrain fit enough, and then not concentrating because I felt rubbish.
Interpret my 'couldn't read the map' as 'i'm a bit crap'
Don't think 1:15 would've made much diff though, i'd still have been crap
I loved the bit in the open as I overtook 3 people! (who promptly went straight past me again!)
Spose i'll run last 3 days but I'm getting slower :(
Does that mean I have a chance of beating you at Barry Buddon?!
more than just a chance I think...
