Updates, including model event info and directions to venues have been posted to http://carolsteam.org/racing/default.aspx/ameet

The link to the meet packet word doc is dead for the moment - will be working later today.

Also note that, while the Team Trials start window is strict, we will try to be somewhat flexible for non-TT starts in the sprint (epunching is nice that way). We would like to get everybody out on course by 4:00PM, so if you can make your start time, please do.

Does anyone know if there might be an O supply vendor at the meet? Specifically, one who might have O shoes?

(I seem to have left mine back in floodcountry.)

Gale Teschendorf is coming and I assume he'll bring his wares with him.

First start in ~90 minutes... Sprint results should be known by ~1 hour after that - for those on site. For those playing along at home, I hope to update the Trials web page (& Scoring) later tonight when I get the results

Thanks in advance Wyatt for posting the results! Fortunately there is no live internet broadcast... it would be another sleepless night.

It was a fine sprint, one of the park variety (I ran in running shoes, shorts, and a singlet) at the campus of the University of Missouri, Saint Louis. Map and courses by Eric Buckley, excellent. Most impressive run of the day from the Americans was Samantha, came awful close to beating Ross.

It was warm but not hot. Even Mr. Swampfox seems to have survived despite his premonitions of disaster.

Even as only a very accidental, O' ccasional sprinter, I thought it was the sprint was quite nicely done. Kudos to Eric Buckley and all his fellow SLOCers!

And thanks to Attackpoint & the O'citizen reporters - the news I desperately wanted was right here! Congrats - awesome run Sam & Hillary too. Plus Cristina & Dasha are looking pretty darn close to the women wearing Team uniforms...

Men's side is amazingly tight, I have not done the math, but on first look it appears that 11 men will score 90+ points...

What about Mårten? Did he get there in time to run the Sprint?
May 20, 2006 2:58 AM #
wilsmith:
He was late and ran after everyone else - must have been still quite warm then. I think he had a super long trip too.

Anyway, rumor has it he ran 14-flat. Not bad, though I was more expecting him to be in the 13-flat range. Perhaps the long journey, the fact he just got off the plane and literally started the race, and maybe a few bobbles out there...?

Cristina:
Big kudos to Eric for a really fun sprint. He even did well arranging the weather, which was positively pleasant from a Texas perspective.

And Samantha deserves the most impressive run by an American remark. I think my jaw is still somewhere near the floor.

Tundra/Desert:
I timed Mårten to (14:00 ± 0:02). He left Flagstaff at 12:01 am Friday, taking a bus to Vegas, something to Vegas airport, plane to MSP, plane to STL, light rail to the event.

Let's see what tomorrow brings...

Sorry for the slowness - it's our first time with epunching. Official results are here. Also contains a link to the OCAD gif export of the map.
