Discussion: Attackpoint frequency

in: Orienteering; General;

iansmith: On a typical day, how frequently do you visit attackpoint, and how much time do you spend on attackpoint?

I'm curious what everyone's habits are; if only I could reasonably log my attackpoint time as "training..."

#  Posted 2009-06-29 22:42:49
bbrooke: I check maybe two or three times a day, about five minutes per visit.

#  Posted 2009-06-30 02:08:49
ndobbs: This is AP not AA

#  Posted 2009-06-30 02:33:41
toddp: I started out using AP infrequently. Now I need to little AP in the morning just to feel normal.

#  Posted 2009-06-30 03:05:51
O Steve!: Ive already checked toddp's log 4 times today.....its bad....

#  Posted 2009-06-30 03:34:37
Cristina: Geez, anyone who checks AP more than once per day clearly needs help.

#  Posted 2009-06-30 03:54:12
gordhun: Help!!

#  Posted 2009-06-30 05:41:57
bl: Interesting question.... I work for state of NH &, early on, could access at work - but it was quickly filtered out - I think as a sports category but perhaps under "terrorism." For addictive personalities, it could be a challenge.

#  Posted 2009-06-30 06:27:44
jjcote: Usually not more than once per hour, I think.

#  Posted 2009-06-30 06:41:11
ebuckley: A! is always the first thing I do when I turn on the computer in the morning. Then, I'll come back at some point to log my training; maybe twice if it's a multi-workout day. If there's a discussion I'm interested in, I might check in a few times for that, too.

#  Posted 2009-06-30 06:52:20
Rosstopher: I'm going to be checking a lot more now that JWOC is about to start! Go USA. of course the athletes will probably be too busy running to post much, but I hope that there will be a lot to read here...opening ceremony is July 5th.

#  Posted 2009-06-30 07:17:43
Juffy: I check it so frequently I don't even need an RSS feed. *shame*

#  Posted 2009-06-30 17:41:39
tinytoes: What with training and logging it and reading about it and other people's training, I'm sure nobody has paid employment ... or another life. Like me.

#  Posted 2009-07-01 00:19:13
glen_schorr: Once a day. About 15 minutes per day.

#  Posted 2009-07-01 01:39:57
Ratlaf: On every day that I do a training, about 5-10 minutes...

#  Posted 2009-07-01 01:40:51
kswinton: Only when I post my own training log, about 5-10mins per visit to look around at what's new.

#  Posted 2009-07-01 02:02:22
j-man: I worry that Ken is tracking how much time people spend on AP, although it is possible to have AP up in the background (as I do) without checking it. But, if it is there, it is hard to resist.

I guess logging frequency, which is tracked, is a reasonable proxy.

#  Posted 2009-07-01 03:32:24
bill_l: less than i used to do, but 2 or 3 times a day, depending on workouts and access to computer....

#  Posted 2009-07-01 11:04:18
vyc: logging every workout.. also checking coleagues.. more or less few times a day..

#  Posted 2009-07-01 17:20:27
Bradders: 1-2 times per day for 5min, longer if there are interesting discussions

#  Posted 2009-07-01 17:34:36
Jagge: I am used to browse AP with my cell phone's browser at toilet. So basicly the frequency is up to my stomach.

#  Posted 2009-07-01 23:58:04
bishop22: A few times per day except when I have no internet connection (like the past 55 hours) and experience withdrawal symptoms. The amount of time depends on how many of my 'favorites' (especially the Webster XC runners) have posted training.

#  Posted 2009-07-02 02:39:11
bubo: Not as much as I used to, but certainly daily if I have access to a computer.

I'm sure nobody has paid employment ... or another life.
I´m lucky to have a paid employment - and I´m also lucky that my employers don´t know I live another life that they pay for ;)

#  Posted 2009-07-02 03:13:27
Justus: I always have it up in the background and check it a few times per day, more at the first of the week when I analyze what I did the previous week.

#  Posted 2009-07-03 08:44:40
Jerritt: So how many of you have it as your home page? I guess this means it's time for another donation. Thanks for the reminder.

It has gotten a bit out of control with the MNOC regulars. Often when we meet face to face and start to tell a story about a workout or race, one will hear, "Oh yeah, I read that on your log. You don't have to tell me the rest."

#  Posted 2009-07-03 08:56:53
Vector: I visit AP whenever it comes time to log training for the day, so I'd say its about once a day, 4-5 days per week on average.

How long I spend us usually about 10-15 min, unless I have a major schedule revamp or find a discussion thread very interesting.

#  Posted 2009-07-03 11:34:09
Fly'n: once a day, for about 16 hours

#  Posted 2009-07-03 20:34:20
nahshon: have just joinnd the attackpoint !but will be vissiting most of my time

#  Posted 2009-07-03 20:44:47
nahshon: after long run in african kenyan highlands my be will vissit the AP

#  Posted 2009-07-03 22:46:29
roschi: 2 x 5-10 min/day when i log trainings or need a break or want to be amazed how tough glen is!

#  Posted 2009-07-29 04:26:09
ColmM: logging training or if im bored prob. check 3-4 times for 10mins

#  Posted 2009-07-30 10:27:34
tRicky: I just read this whole thread at the end of my lunchtime. I read some other discussions at the start of my lunchtime. In the middle I did other stuff.

#  Posted 2009-07-30 19:59:32
spaff: 2x per day usually....just after training each time.

#  Posted 2009-07-31 00:36:19
bill3: I check it about once every 4 months or so. I have a real problem remembering to go to a website to look for a discussion thread. It's much easier for me to follow a discussion if it comes to my e-mail inbox. The only reason I checked AP today is because Glenn Schorr posted a note to the USOF ClubNet that he was starting a couple of discussion threads here.

#  Posted 2009-08-01 00:40:30
Adam: Usually 2 to 4 times a day, 10 minutes each.
