Sorry to take the discussion away from Orienteering for a second, but it has to be one of the greatest comebacks of all time: The Red Sox made it into the World Series 4-3, after being 0-3 down against the Yankees, and through a bunch of really tight games including one OT game. Ah, those Boston days at Fenway Park..

Or maybe it is related to orienteering after all - somehow it makes me want to go out and train.!(I'm sure Spike could tell us more about this)

Both games 4 and 5 went into extra innings, to be precise, as you would know if you had stayed up to watch them like a true fan would, Matthias: time zone, schmime zone.

The Sox have been amazing. What a lovable bunch. I just feel like hugging them all.

Anyone else in TX rootin' for the Astros, just to get a chance to see the Sox play in Houston?

The last four games were wonderful, but still 4 more wins needed for nirvana.

I guess you MA people deserve some small consolation after all these years. But don't get used to the winning ways - they are bound to be followed by tears.

I can't wait to see the Red Sox get destroyed by the Cards next week......

Wouldn't that imply the (damn) Yankees are also worse than the Cards? I mean, how embarrasing is that?

Luckily they won't have to wear their embarrassment in public. They can watch the games like the rest of us from the comfort of their own homes.

Yeah, Boris, in order for the Yankees to be able to claim they're the second-best team in baseball, the Red Sox have to beat the Cardinals.

So, just like when you were three years old, huh Peter? Boston vs. St. Louis? And just like when I was about to turn six. (No, I don't remember, either.)

No, I don't need for the Yankees to be the second best team in baseball. It's sufficient that the Red Sox are never The Best.

Are you sure you're a member of CSU, Boris?

I heard this line- Rooting for the Yankees is like rooting for the house in blackjack. GO BOSOX, even though this includes their sorry manager, ex-Phillie Terry Francona, now one of the luckiest men in the history of baseball.

Memories of Buckner ('86) vs. Memories of Denkinger ('85).

I thought Clemons would have been a little better with a chance to go against the Red Sox in the World Series.

Go Dodgers! Go Angels!

Oh well - Go Sox!

I didn't know that rooting for those whiny BoSox was a pre-requisite for a CSU membership...

and I thought this topic may not be suitable for an orienteering group...
