I am wondering what people have thought of this new type of orienteering racing shoe? How does it wear (falls apart easily, fits wide)? Do people take the same size in this shoe as they do in other VJ shoes (such as twister)?
Also, where is the best place to order this online (to Canada)?
Thanks for any information!

I was talking to a VJ guy at tio over the weekend. From what I understood, the upper is similar to the Twisters (so don't expect them to last long!).

Since I'm fed up with Twisters falling apart so fast, I plumped for the new Icebug which seems to be a similar fit. Haven't run in them yet, but I'm excited :)

I bought the VJ supra spike at tio last weekend, i'll run with those shoes next sunday on the Belgian champs for the first time.
The size: I ran with integrator and twister before and i always used UK-size 7. Last weekend i tried VJ supra stud and the best fit was again UK-size 7. But for VJ supra spike, it was different for me. I bought UK-size 7.5.

iceburg spirit misses his dobbs quite easily..
vj supra spike is a nice shoe to wear, but be careful the first races. start with sprint, then middle, would not run long distance in these shoes

The xtalon 212 looks like a pretty good shoe. Are there any good shoes with the metal spikes?

I'm still hesitant to drop more than $40 on a pair of shoes.

I have the VJ supra with studs, I find them very comfortable, but a little wide in the fore-foot. I also have the feeling that they are not going to last very long.

I have VJ Falcons with studs, I like them, but soles separation is a problem. My (I believe) right sole started to come off after like 50 miles, but a little epoxy fixed it right up.

While Tero may have experienced excellent grip in the conditions he ran in, that sole looks like a disaster in the mud. The tread blocks don't have nearly enough void to clear. I've orienteered in cross country spikes in dry conditions and found the grip fine, but for wet conditions, especially if the terrain had a lot of deep reentrants, I'd want a lot more texture in the sole.
