Of the 4 courses, the red course had an interesting twist. The map was distributed 1 minute before start time, with everything blotted out except the CP location and a very small amount of map features just outside the CP circle.
Fortunately, the CPs typically had collecting features which made the course much easier.
It was really like running a Night-O in a sense. I would attach a map, but don't know how.

I think that used to be called window orienteering because there was only a small window of detail around the control.
It was very good for training compass work and particularly pace counting.
Good for NEOOC for venturing to put forward something a little different. Variety will help keep those already familiar with old terrain coming back.
