Really? This happens to me about 60% of the time. For me it helps if there's pressure, though. Do you tend to make more errors in training or competitions?

And good luck choosing a college! Looks like you have some good options :-).

Well, it's weird because the past 2 a-meets I haven't been fast enough for that to be a problem. (Well, except that one leg on the relay.)

I did better today at the score-O... I just did my first 3 routes at the beginning, and then sort of a general idea of the sweeps I'd make of the controls, and ended up with a raw score of 1225 (Huw only got 1500) out of 1975. I had probably 20 minutes of time lost due to error (and 15 minutes of that was on 1 control), and 10 minutes of time lost due to walking, and a total time of 2:12ish (so minus 600 points for lateness - 50 points a minute =/). I was pretty happy with that, all things considered. The map was not very good. =/

Nicely done on the score-o! We just had one here today, too. That's annoying about losing 600 points for lateness though...it seems like a harsh late penalty.

Ours had a few controls with extra 'decoys' on nearby parallel features...so the control descriptions didn't have control codes on them, and if you punched the wrong control, you'd get negative whatever you would have gotten.
