Spring Rock Festival Photos used to be found here. But that was a long time ago.

A few more pics from the Sprint Relay are posted here. A few from Sunday also posted on page 2. It was dark during the relay so had to crank the gain to freeze the action...higher gain = higher noise. Nice shot of Dasha flying the DVOA colors and Dave smoting a ditch.

Yikes! At the FLO event I kidded Dave about the Mustang he was driving and that I didn't see him as a muscle car sort of guy. I totally take that back. Dave, I sincerely apologize. You are one bad-a$$ sort of guy! (It is clear from that photo that the last thing I want is Dave mad at me.)

And more photos, mostly of the awards ceremony, here. (Dave's cat was named Creature, with a capital C.)

Woah, Dave, what did that ditch ever do to you?

Eddie, thanks for the great pic (s) dude!! The check's in the mail. I've always wanted to "smote" something and now I have--yehaw!!!!

Now if I could just manage to get my picture in ONA sometime. After going to five years of A-Meets I have yet to ever have a photo of me appear in the mag, even in a group shot :-( Go figure (please ignore this shameless attempt to pander to the editors of ONA, unless, of course, you are an ONA editor--my contest with Valerie made me do it).

Finally, it should be noted that the picture was taken as I was helping QOC to race to a second place finish in the 3 point Sprint relay competition (along with Ted and Andy). The previous week, we had snagged a 3rd place finish at the Pig in the 4pt. team relay category (along with Tim, Nadim and Ted). Too bad there aren't any more relays this year. QOC is on a roll. Just think the face I'd be making helping QOC secure a first place finish in a relay!!!!! :-)

Definately, you guys should plan for the Crystal Relay - its the greatest of all the world's relays. And there will be the mid-atlantic champs relay that QOC is hosting this year, right? Maybe someone will host another team-member auction relay this year? That was lots of fun. But now you'll have to buy back Ken jr. from CSU to get him to run on a QOC team.

DVOA is tentatively considering a relay or farsta on the sprint series weekend. No promises yet. Pro and con votes welcome.

Sprint relay 2x2 teams (two runners teams x 2 legs each) with farsta (forking) with spectator controls - that would be in the spirit of Sprints, and I would help to organize

If relays can cause 215 Attackpoint discussions, them maybe we should have some more of them...

Yeah, alright, the Crystal Relay still has yet to be run and yes there will be a mid-Atlantic champs relay. I forgot about those. Dang, I might actually have to go out West this August, for once, who knows.

As far as the DVOA sprint relay goes, I think it sounds like a great idea.

Finally, Eddie, we would love to have Kenny back. In fact, Ted and I were quite excited to hear that Kenny is probably moving back to our area (and probably right down the street from me in Rockville--Yeah!!!). But when Ted and I asked him whether he would be returning to his roots and swearing his allegiance to QOC, he evaded the issue ;-) It seems that he's gone over to the dark side and will never return. I guess once you've joined the "Evil Empire" there is no turning back (thank goodness we've been able to keep Leif, Samantha, and a few others away--there's hope). Perhaps the only way we will ever get Kenny back is to win his services for a race in another team-member relay auction :-) Come to think of it, when will we have another auction along those lines?

No way! Ken and Alex are moving to Rockville? Thats awesome. Samantha and Max Power are destined to become the next generation of QOC orienteering! What does R.E.M. know about it anyways...

I always thought there was something fishy about Rockville--due to that REM song.

Okay, David O, now that I finally made it into ONA, I'll have to try for the cover next. :)
